           Cleveland Utilities (CU) is proud to announce the completion of its fiber network construction, marking a major milestone in delivering high-speed, reliable internet service to the Cleveland community. With this achievement, 100% of Cleveland Utilities electric customers now have access to CU Fiber Internet.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This expansion represents a significant investment in the community, providing residents and businesses with the area’s only 100% fiber-to-the-premise network, backed by local customer service. CU Fiber Internet also offers straightforward, transparent, customer-friendly service with no contracts, no data caps, symmetrical upload and download speeds, and no late fees or penalties.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The only exception to current service availability is for certain multi-tenant dwellings, such as apartment complexes and similar properties. In these cases, Cleveland Utilities must first obtain permission from property owners. Additionally, specialized engineering work is required for CU internet service delivery within these type properties. CU is actively working with property owners to get fiber service to multi-tenant dwellings as quickly as possible.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Cleveland Utilities recently deployed two electric line crews through mutual aid agreements to assist fellow public power utilities with power restoration efforts following damage resulting from Winter Storm Fern.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The first five-member crew—Eric Smith, Colt Fernandez, Brandon Ingram, Gus Miller, and Dan Whitlock—departed on Monday, January 26, to assist Harriman Utility Board. The crew returned home on Thursday, January 29.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A second five-member crew—Anthony Hicks, Dalton Montgomery, Bill Raulston, Zach Trew, Shane Ware —was deployed on Friday, January 30, to support Nashville Electric Service. This crew remained on assignment through the week and returned on Saturday, February 7.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           During restoration events, crews work long hours, often in challenging conditions, to help restore electric service. Their skill and dedication are vital in bringing communities back online.

           Cleveland Utilities wants to remind customers about the upcoming change to its residential wastewater billing, effective July 1, 2026.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           As previously announced, CU wastewater billing currently includes a 14-unit cap during the months of April through November. Beginning July, 1, 2026, this cap will be eliminated, and wastewater charges will be based on actual water usage.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            14 units of water = approximately 10,472 gallons
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Plan Ahead: Consider an Irrigation Meter
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Customers who use water outdoors (lawn watering, gardens, washing vehicles, etc.) may benefit from installing an irrigation meter, which measures water that does not flow into the sewer system.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           As part of this transition and to help customers prepare:

           The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Cleveland Utilities are proud to announce a significant energy efficiency milestone at the Horizon Square Preservation Apartment Complex. This is a multi-family complex located on Georgetown Road NW. In recognition of the property’s commitment to reducing energy use and improving resident comfort, TVA and Cleveland Utilities are awarding a $31,500 rebate following the replacement of 63 HVAC systems at the complex.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Horizon Square Apartments is now recognized as the largest residential multi-family energy efficiency project completed in the TVA service territory to date. DynaMech Heating, Cooling, Electrical &amp;amp; Plumbing completed the project. The HVAC upgrade is expected to deliver substantial energy savings, with an estimated 46,256 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of gross energy savings in the first year alone.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           This foundational network of public fast charging stations along interstates and major highways is focused on both urban and rural communities, and has grown to over 100 charging stations at more than 50 locations. Access to reliable and cost-effective charging is critical to consumers considering EVs. This voluntary program enables local communities to provide additional refueling options for residents and travelers, supporting local businesses near charging locations.

           Last month, Cleveland Utilities (CU) discovered that a subcontractor working on behalf of a competing internet provider had damaged CU's fiber facilities in multiple locations throughout Foxfire Subdivision.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We are pleased to report that repairs to CU's fiber network in this area have been scheduled for
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Friday, September 12, 2025,
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            beginning at
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           12:01 a.m.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The full repair is estimated to take approximately four to five hours.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            During this time,
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           CU fiber customers in Foxfire Subdivision will experience a temporary service outage
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . We have intentionally scheduled this work during overnight hours in an effort to minimize disruption for our fiber customers in the neighborhood.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Although this damage was caused by factors beyond our control, CU remains fully committed to delivering the high standards of quality and reliability that our customers expect and deserve.

           Several months ago, Cleveland Utilities (CU) successfully completed the construction of its new fiber network in the Foxfire Subdivision, marking a significant investment in bringing another option for high-speed internet access and enhanced electric reliability to residents in the neighborhood.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Shortly after CU's project was finalized, another competing area internet service provider began upgrading its own fiber infrastructure in that same neighborhood. During the week of August 4, 2025, CU discovered a subcontractor working on behalf of the competing provider had damaged CU's fiber facilities in multiple locations throughout the subdivision.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The extent of the damage is such that CU now has no choice but to reconstruct the damaged parts of its fiber system in the impacted area. This is an unfortunate and frustrating situation for both CU and our Foxfire neighbors.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disruption this causes. We understand how disappointing it is for customers to experience another round of construction, particularly when CU’s work has already been completed.

            — Eaton Corporation’s manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Tennessee, has been awarded a $13,200 incentive through the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) EnergyRight® for Business &amp;amp; Industry Program in recognition of a recent HVAC equipment retrofit that will significantly enhance energy efficiency and reduce the site’s environmental footprint.

           Power supplies are tightening as extremely high temperatures drive up energy use.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Together with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the generator of the electricity Cleveland Utilities distributes throughout its community, we are monitoring the upward trend in electricity use and its impact on the power supply. TVA is asking customers to voluntarily reduce the use of all non-essential electricity during this extreme heat period. This will help power providers across the Tennessee Valley to continue delivering reliable service during this period of exceptionally hot temperatures across the region.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This is a precautionary measure. Anytime we experience a period of extreme heat, it significantly increases the demand for electricity. Together with TVA, we are proactively taking steps to reduce energy consumption at our facilities and by also asking customers to take small practical steps that can have a big impact on our preparation to meet the demand for electricity.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Here are some quick and easy ways to conserve energy and stay cool:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Adjust your thermostat to a temperature that is just cool enough to keep you comfortable, and then consider bumping it up a degree. Each degree a thermostat is set above 75°F could lower your energy use by 10-15 percent.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Use floor and ceiling fans in conjunction with air conditioning, letting you raise your thermostat a few degrees and remain comfortable.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Use major appliances early in the morning or late at night. Make sure to maximize your loads; larger loads not only save you money but they also save time and energy.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Prepare your meals in microwaves or other small appliances, or use an outside grill to avoid heating up the house.

            Cleveland Utilities (CU) is announcing an important update for its residential wastewater billing structure effective
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           July 1, 2026
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . Historically, Cleveland Utilities has implemented a 14-unit cap on wastewater billing during the months of April to November.  Starting next July, CU will eliminate this 14-unit wastewater cap, a change that will directly tie wastewater charges to actual water consumption. This change will create a more equitable and transparent model for CU customers. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As part of the transition, Cleveland Utilities will also reduce the cost of irrigation meters beginning
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           September 1, 2025
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . Irrigation meters are often used to measure water that does not flow into the sewer system. For example, lawn or garden use. Previously, irrigation meters were priced at twice the rate of standard residential water meters. Moving forward, their pricing will match that of a standard residential water meter, making it more affordable to install an irrigation meter and potentially save on wastewater charges. CU encourages customers to monitor their water usage and assess whether the installation of an irrigation meter would be beneficial for their household.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Cleveland Utilities will focus on educating customers about these changes. The goal is to provide ample time to determine if installing an irrigation meter will be advantageous for their water and sewer budgets. This educational effort is aimed at ensuring a smooth transition for all customers.

           Cleveland Utilities (CU) is committed to ensuring the highest standards of service and protection for its valued customers. In line with this commitment, Cleveland Utilities offers a Water Loss Program designed to help customers with the potentially high and unexpected repairs/costs associated with water leaks. Effective July 1, 2025, CU is announcing an adjustment to the associated fees for this program. These changes are necessary to continue offering robust protection amidst rising costs.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Since the inception of the Water Loss Program in April of 2020, the price has held steady. CU takes rate increases seriously and only implements change when necessary. This is the public utility model, working hard to keep rates as low as possible.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="null" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Basic Water Loss Protection (Opt-Out Program)
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="null" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Basic Water Loss Protection Program will increase from $1.00 per month to $2.00 per month effective July 1, 2025. Basic coverage is designed to safeguard customers against unexpected water loss, ensuring greater peace of mind. All customers are automatically enrolled in the basic program and will experience the $1.00 increase unless they have previously opted out.  Customers who have opted out of the basic program but wish to take advantage of this added protection can re-enroll by contacting Cleveland Utilities.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           Enhanced Water Loss Protection Program (Opt-In Program)

           For those seeking additional coverage, Cleveland Utilities offers an optional Advanced Water Loss Protection Program. Effective July 1, 2025, the fee for this program will increase from $10.00 per month to $15.00 per month. Customers currently enrolled in the Enhanced Program will experience the $5.00 increase automatically. However, customers always have the option to continue with extra protection or disenroll from the program.

           How CU is Installing Fiber Lines
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            There are two primary methods for installing fiber-optic cables:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           underground or aerial.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

              Generally, CU’s fiber optic cables will follow the same path as the electric lines. Thus, if the electric lines are underground, the fiber lines will also be underground. If the electric lines are overhead, the fiber lines will be overhead as well.

           As we work to expand fiber to more Cleveland Utilities electric customers, you may notice colored markings or flags in the ground throughout the area. These are signs of progress, indicating that CU Fiber internet lines are expanding throughout the city!

           When installing underground facilities, utility companies will mark their lines to identify where underground utilities are located. The colors of the markings follow the American Public Works Association’s standardized color code to signify different utility types:

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Blue: Drinking water

           Cleveland Utilities (CU) believes in being open and transparent with its customer base and wants to communicate an important update regarding challenges the utility has and continues to face during its ongoing fiber project. CU’s commitment to its customers remains steadfast, and the utility recognizes the importance of sharing details and facts, so customers are informed.
          &#xD;

           During the ongoing construction phase of the fiber buildout, CU's contractors have inadvertently dug into AT&amp;amp;T and Spectrum lines which led to temporary disruptions in internet service for some households. Unfortunately, despite CU adhering to all necessary protocols and placing requisite one-call requests, these providers have repeatedly not marked their service drops, resulting in unmarked facilities being affected.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Cleveland Utilities has received numerous calls from impacted customers when these occurrences happen, and while CU is not liable or financially responsible for damages occurring to unmarked lines, CU’s staff is actively trying their absolute best to help customers get their issues resolved. They have been reaching out to the appropriate provider to alert them of the incidents and working on behalf of the customer in an effort to get their services restored as quickly as possible.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Additionally, Cleveland Utilities strongly recommends for customers of AT&amp;amp;T and Spectrum to contact them and encourage the marking of their facilities. The action of these companies marking their lines will ensure their facilities are correctly identified to help prevent future occurrences of disruptions. A clear indication that a customer’s service line has been marked is the appearance of orange paint, leading from the curb to the home.

            Cleveland Utilities wants customers to know they are being proactive in this respect and are marking their facilities. This is CU’s commitment to help ensure their customers do not experience disruptions caused by unmarked lines. By increasing awareness and encouraging all service providers to mark their facilities, we can help protect our community’s services to have reliable utility access. By working together, we can all help alleviate these issues.

           In a recent development, one of AT&amp;amp;T's primary fiber lines was accidentally hit due to not being marked, and when they were unable to deploy repair resources promptly, CU’s contractor stepped in to assist AT&amp;amp;T with their repairs. This effort displays CU’s dedication and exemplifies CU as a cooperative partner in this process.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Cleveland, TN – October 4, 2024 – Cleveland Utilities (CU) is actively preparing for the upcoming implementation of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR). One of the key components of the revisions requires water systems to create an inventory of water service line materials on both the utility side and the customer side of a water meter.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           CU has always placed the safety of the water supplied to customers as a top priority and has not installed any lead piping on its system since 1971 and possibly even earlier. Additionally, CU employs corrosion control treatments to create protective coatings on pipes and homeowner plumbing, which helps prevent lead from leaching into the water. For years, CU’s rigorous sampling has consistently shown no lead issues, meeting the stringent regulatory standards set by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and the EPA.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Although the revised LCRR reporting will not come into full effect until this month, CU has been diligently working on the water lines inventory for an extended period. Initial findings suggest that most properties in our service territory don’t have lead service lines originating from the utility side. However, there remains a slight possibility that some customer service lines in homes built before 1988 may still contain lead.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Cleveland Utilities will soon be sending additional communications, including a new section on its website with information about how the LCRR will affect CU and its customers as well as a link to the survey with detailed instructions. CU will need collaboration from customers to collect information about the material of the water service line at their residence to help us identify potential lead material that could be in our area.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Cleveland Utilities (CU) contract construction crews are actively constructing its brand new state-of-the-art fiber optic network. We are excited to share the benefits of our advanced fiber network with you: fast download and upload speeds, generous bandwidth, and reliability of fiber direct to your home. The complete fiber buildout will take an estimated eighteen months before all our electric customers will have access to these services. Despite the wait and occasional inconveniences over the coming months, we are proud to be able to bring you another option and access to the fastest, most reliable internet in our area.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           The underground construction process will include digging, trenching, and boring activities to install the fiber. We will be utilizing specialized equipment and adhering to industry best practices to minimize disruptions and complete the work as efficiently as possible.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Grid Modernization/Fiber Project Update</title>

           Cleveland Utilities (CU) began the engineering portion for CU’s Grid Modernization and Broadband Project for its electric customers in the fall of 2023. CU has selected FiberRise-Entrust of Huntsville, AL, to engineer and manage construction of the fiber optic system.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The FiberRise-Entrust team actively has crews conducting field work (various inspections/assessment tasks) to optimize the fiber design routes. As a reminder, this phase of the project may require physically visiting each pole owned by CU in its electric service footprint. FiberRise-Entrust may also need to access properties at an electric customer’s residence/business to verify best routes for designing fiber to reach a home/business based on how power is currently provided to the location. All activity will occur outside of the home/business and will be very typical to CU’s meter/equipment inspection activities. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Crews will be working in various areas of the electric service territory Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until dark until further notice.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           FiberRise-Entrust employees/contractors will have an identification letter and Cleveland Utilities logos on their vehicles. Again, FiberRise-Entrust is an authorized consultant working on behalf of CU.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Additionally, Cleveland Utilities has launched a new portion of its website where customers are able to track the progress of this project so that they are able to determine when broadband services will be available in their area. This new section of the website allows customers the opportunity to register for updates/announcements and pre-sign up for services as they become available.
